Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain is a 27 hole golf resort facility located in Marana, Arizona. The facility has three 9-hole courses that can be combined for three different 18-hole golf course experiences.
The course first opened for play (unofficially) in late 2008. The courses were designed by Jack Nicklaus.
This Jack Nicklaus Signature Design presents unique challenges and distinct character. The course sits unobtrusively among the noble saguaro cactus that line the surrounding Tortolita Mountain Range.
Nicklaus tailored the course for world-class competition - specifically a home for the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship, which in 2009 maked its debut at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain.
The golf courses is accessible only by resident members and resort guests of The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain
The course features large greens with significant undulation, wide fairways and carries over desert washes define each course. The bunkering varies from classic, pot-style obstacles to expansive areas that stretch close to 80 yards along the edges of the fairways. The golf courses feature Bentgrass greens, while the tees, fairways and rough are Bermuda (with perennial rye overseed), ideal for the desert climate. An additional nine holes are planned.

I was fortunate enough to play this course on the last day that it was open for play before the WGC Match Play. As a result, it was in spectacular condition. The greens were smooth, firm and lightning fast. The rough was penal, but not impossible. It has some elevation and can stretch to 7600 yards, but has plenty of shorter tees for higher handicap golfer. If you select the proper tees, I don't see why a 15-20 handicapper couldn't enjoy the round. I'm a 4 and played from the tips, just as a lark and shot 86. Very isolated, high desert conditions, but plenty of grass. Highly recommended.

Far too difficult for the average player. Blind Tee shots, Hidden barancas and forced carries. Worst of all of Jack's courses I've played. Fine for the scratch player or Pro. I am a single digit hcp who didn't enjoy the experiance. The Staff was great.

It has to rate in the top 5 Arizona courses. I'll enjoy watching the pro's play the course and comparing their round to mine. It's a must play it again.
